I’m contemplating RSS and reading articles. Since my introduction to the fediverse I actually treated my timeline like a feed reader and mostly read articles from hackernews and stuff that people shared. I’ve also implemented a rough microsub server in akedia. Which mostly works, but man, parsing feeds is hard
So yesterday I installed miniflux which is a no-frills RSS reader and I love it. The simplicity of RSS is really intriguing to me. Most blogs I read (still) have RSS support even if they don’t advertise it. (For example Hugo has
/index.xml in the default configuration)
So I will run with miniflux for now and see how it goes.
PS: Readably is a really nice android reader with support for a lot of selfhosted readers/aggregators through the fever api.
